Hint: Each lung is composed of smaller units called lobes. There are 3 lobes in the right lungs and 2 lobes in the left lungs.

Complete answer:
The lung is the respiratory organ in humans and has two lungs: the left and the right lung. Each lung is enclosed within a pleural sac that contains pleural fluid, which allows the inner and outer walls to slide over each other without friction when a person breathes. This sac also divides the lungs into sections called lobes.

Fissures separate these lobes from each other. The right lung consists of three lobes: the superior, middle, and inferior lobes. The left lung consists of two lobes: the superior and inferior lobes. The superior lobe is located at the upper side while the inferior lobe is located on the lower side of the lungs.

Many segments divide the lobe and are called the broncho-pulmonary segment. Many segments divide the lobe and are called the broncho-pulmonary segment. There are about 10 segments in the right lungs and 8- 9 segments in the left lungs. The left lung has a cavity or a depression called the cardiac notch.
The left lung is smaller than the right lung because space is taken up by the heart therefore there are only 2 lobes in the left lung while 3 lobes in the right lungs.

Note: Each lobe of the lung has the same physiological function, bringing oxygen into the bloodstream and removing carbon dioxide. For the treatment of lung cancer or tuberculosis, the sections of a lobe or even entire lobes can be removed.
