Buna-N is used in the aeronautical and automotive industries to produce oil and fuel handling hoses, grommets, seals, and self-sealing fuel tanks. It is utilized in the nuclear industry to make protective gloves. The Buna-N material is resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals; the more Buna-N you use, the greater the oil resistance, but the less flexible it is.
They are made up of long chains of hydrogen and carbon atoms. Molecular bonds formed between these molecules are adamant, which means microbes find it difficult to break the bonds and digest them. Thus more time is needed to decompose them.
