So, the Sahara Desert is situated in the Northern part of Africa. The rocky surfaces of this desert may be more than 2500m high in some places. Scorching hot and parch dry are the climatic conditions of the Sahara Desert. It has a short rainy season. The temperatures during the day soar really high. The Sahara Desert also has vegetation which includes cactus, date, palms, and acacia. In some places there are oases and the green islands with date palms surround them. The prominent animal species living here are camels, hyenas, jackals, foxes, scorpions, and many varieties of snakes and lizards.
