It is a very important natural resource that is required for every activity. Water is very important for the living organisms to live and thus is also called the elixir of life due. Due to the increasing pollution, the sources of water are decreasing and polluted and we need to save them to conserve water for our use.
The increase in the number of contaminants and other harmful substances in the water will result in the pollution of the water called water pollution. This may affect not only the aquatic living organisms but also the terrestrial and other forms of life. A large number of nutrients and organic matter will result in the depletion of the oxygen present in the water leading to the fishes facing suffocation. The accumulation of harmful acids like sulfates and nitrates causing acid rain will also affect the marine or aquatic habitat living in the ocean, sea, rivers, or lakes resulting in the mortality of the organism.
The increase in the accumulation or release of sewage water in the water bodies will result in a large amount of algal growth creating dead zones for the aquatic organisms leading to the process of eutrophication. This dead zone will result in the region where the oxygen is absent and thus it is impossible for life to survive there.

To save our water we can utilize three R's
Reduce - reducing the utilization of water and reducing its wastage. Reuse - reusing similar water again for instance water utilized for washing clothes can be utilized for cleaning purposes. Recycle - The wastewater from the industry can be used again for various purposes by the process of recycling and thus saves water.
