Hint: There is a technique in horticulture known as grafting. In grafting tissue of plants are joined so as to continue their growth together. The upper part or the stem of the combined plant is called the scion . While the lower part which contains the root is called stock.
Complete step by step answer:
1.The technique of grafting is most commonly used and known as asexual propagation and also known as vegetative propagation for the production of plants beneficial in horticulture.
2.The success of the technique of joining scion and stock requires that the vascular tissue grow together and such joining is called inoculation.
3.The scion contains the desired genes to be duplicated in future production by the plant developed by grafting . That means the plant which is used as scion will be produced further.
4.So if we take the scion of desi mango and stock of desheri mango the type of mango produced will be desi mango.
5.For the success of the technique grafting the vascular cambium tissue of the stock and scion plant must be placed in contact with each other.
6.One of the most important factors for successful grafting is the compatibility of scion and the stock. Plants which do not produce vascular cambium such as monocots can not normally be grafted.
Hence the correct answer is option(B)
Note: The joints which are formed by grafting are not as strong as the naturally formed joints. So a physical weak point often still occurs at the point of joint or the graft .
