Hint: Solid waste materials can be classified into two distinct categories such as Biodegradable and Non-Biodegradable wastes. Due to an increase in population, rapid urbanization, huge expansion of industries, and unrestrained use of modern technology, Proper disposal and management of wastes became a burgeoning issue not only for human health and social life but also for the environment.

Complete answer:
Our environment can degrade or decompose the biodegradable wastes into harmless materials only at a particular pace. Depending on the amount of waste generated, we can decide whether it will create a positive or negative impact on the environment.
The production of an enormous amount of biodegradable wastes will eventually lead to create a threat towards the environment.

Even if all the wastes that are generated is biodegradable, it will still have the following impacts on the environment such as:
-The degradation of such a huge amount of biodegradable material requires a large amount of area to decompose it by compositing.
-At the time of decomposing massive biodegradable wastes will emit or generate an unbearable foul smell that will cause serious health issues and air-borne diseases. This will also make life miserable.
-Meanwhile, the area of depository which contains all the biodegradable waste materials will serve as a breeding ground for various files and mosquitoes which will result in spreading of various diseases.
-If the large amount of biodegradable waste materials is not disposed properly then such incomplete degradation will cause clogging of drains.

Non-biodegradable waste also creates so many problems for human health as well as in social life. The accumulation of a large amount of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste material pollutes the environment as it does not decompose easily.

Note: Whether it is biodegradable or non-biodegradable wastes, they create harm to human life as well as to other organisms by entirely ruining the environment. Each and every individual should have concern to dispose of the wastes properly by separating the biodegradable from non-biodegradable wastes. The three R's-Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce are the simplest ways to be followed by everyone in order to save other lives as well as natural resources.
