As we all know atoms form the fundamental particle of everything. Light formation at atomic level is basically a three step process.
Initially they begin from the stable ground state with electrons at their actual position. Now when they absorb energy, these electrons jump into higher energy levels which changes the state of the atom from rest to excited. This unstable excited atom tends to move back to its stable ground state. This step however results in the release of photons of certain energy. Thus, we saw how light is created at atomic level.
