Hint: Air is in gaseous form. The gases do not have any fixed shape and fixed volume. When the air is stored in the container the molecules start moving and colloid with each other.
Complete step by step answer:
We all knew that the air moves in all directions. When the air moves, it is called wind. Air moves from a region of higher air pressure to the region of lower air pressure. The difference in pressure helps in the movement of air. The greater is the pressure difference, the faster the air will move.
The pressure exerted by the air on all the directions and all the bodies is called air pressure. When the air travels with high speed then the low pressure area is created. When the balloon is blown, the air inside the balloons exert pressure in all directions and helps it to blow. The air present opposes the motion of the moving object. This is called air resistance.
The pressure exerted by the air is shown by an experiment where the container is filled by air and the molecules of air are moving in the random motion. The molecules present are continuously colliding with each other and with the wall of the container. When the air molecule colloids with the wall of the container, they exert some force on the wall. The pressure exerted by the molecule of gas is because of all the collision forces. The more number of molecules will hit the wall, the higher will be the pressure exerted.
Note:
The temperature affects the pressure exerted by the gas molecules. When the gas is heated, the molecules move more fastly and hit the wall. This increases the pressure. Higher pressure results in the bursting of containers.
