Hint: The above given equation $ x+5=2x $ is the linear equation in one variable. The linear equation in one variable is an equation which is expressed in the form of $ ax+b=0 $ , where $ a $ and $ b $ are two integers, and $ x $ is a variable and has only one solution. We can easily solve any equation having one variable. First put the variable on the left hand side and numerical value on the right side. Change the operators while changing sides of the terms and then solve for the variable.

Complete step by step solution:
Now the given equation is $ x+5=2x $ , now will we simplify and we have to find the value of $ x $
Now,
 $ \Rightarrow x+5=2x $
Now we will subtract $ x $ from both side of the equation, then we get
 $ \Rightarrow x+5-x=2x-x $
Now in left part of the equation the both $ x $ get cancelled out then, we get
 $ \Rightarrow 5=2x-x $
Now we will subtract $ x $ from $ 2x $ , then we get
 $ \Rightarrow 5=x $
Now we can write the equation in the linear equation in one variable $ ax+b=0 $ as $ x+5=0 $ .
Hence we get the value of $ x $ which is $ 5 $ .

Note: We can verify our answer whether it is correct or wrong. We can simply putting the value of $ x $ in the given equation $ x+5=2x $
Now put the value of $ x $ which is $ 5 $ and we have to make the left and right part of the equation become equals.
 $ \Rightarrow 5+5=2\times 5 $
We know that $ 5+5=10 $ and $ 2\times 5=10 $ , it means we get both parts of the equation equal to each other, it means our value of $ x $ is absolutely correct which is $ 5 $ .
