Hint: First of all take the given expression and we will open the brackets and will combine the like terms and will simplify for the resultant required value.

Complete step-by-step solution:
Take the given expression: $x + 3x + 5 + x$
Arrange the like terms together, like terms are the terms with the same variable and its power.
$\Rightarrow x + 3x + x + 5$
Make the pair of like terms.
$\Rightarrow \underline {x + 3x + x} + 5$
Combine the like terms, when you add both the positive terms then you have to do addition and give sign of the positive to the resultant value.
$\Rightarrow 5x + 5$
This is the required solution.

Thus the required solution is 5x+5.

Note: While doing simplification remember the golden rules-
- Addition of two positive terms gives the positive term
- Addition of one negative and positive term, you have to do subtraction and give signs of bigger numbers, whether positive or negative.
- Addition of two negative numbers gives a negative number but in actual you have to add both the numbers and give a negative sign to the resultant answer.
