Some are using living forms of resources and some are using non-living forms of resources The effective work of an individual or organization is enabled by the use of resources.

The classification of resources can be done as under:
1.The major classification of resources is into natural resources and man made resources.
         Natural Sources are those resources that are already present in nature plants, animals etc. and man made resources are those resources that are made by man using the natural things that are available in nature, for example bridges and roads are built by men by using Sand, wood, cement that are naturally present on this earth.
2.Natural resources are further classified into biotic and abiotic resources.
        The living forms of resources that are available in nature like humans, animals and plants are called biotic resources and the non- living forms of resources available in nature, for example metals, rocks, stone are called abiotic resources.
3.One more classification of resources is into renewable and non renewable resources
        Those resources that are abundant in nature and can renew themselves are called renewable resources, for example sunlight and wind and those resources that have a chance of extinction and take millions of years to form or called non- renewable resources, for example fossil fuels minerals.

Note:A systematic, organized, balanced and responsible use of resources is very important to save them from getting exhausted . The resources that are available to a man today, should be available to the people in future as well. All the resources available should be used by a man only according to his requirement in a responsible manner.
