A. Canal irrigation is adequate in the Northern Plains because the soil in this area is permeable and the level of groundwater is high. Canals in the northern plain of India are built near the rivers for effortless transportation of water everywhere . They are also reasonable and conserved by the government. Almost 20 percent of India has been using canal irrigation.

B. Tank irrigation is a significant means of irrigation in Karnataka because of the existence of hard rocks in the state. Rainwater is obtained in a hollow depression. Irrigation is the artificial supply of water mainly for agriculture. Often a tank is built across a slope to obtain and store water by taking benefit of local mounds and depressions.

C. Sprinkler irrigation is a new technique that is gaining popularity. It is expected that it will assist the farmers of our country to improve their agriculture and its efficiency is also very high. But being costly, it is not affordable for real poor farmers.
