Androgens are male sex hormones which helps in development of primary and secondary sex organs, their maintenance and help in regulation of insemination.
Amount of androgen, generally increases as a individual enters into his puberty age and it starts responses for the grow of secondary sex organs. Androgens help in differentiation of penis, scrotum and prostate gland.
Major types of androgens present in males are testosterone, dihydrotestosterone and androstenedione.

Estrogens are primary sex hormones in case of females and they and they are responsible for the growth, development and maintenance of the female reproductive systems and primary and secondary sex characteristics.
In females, endrogens are responsible for the development of breast, thickening of endometrium and regulation of menstrual cycles.
Main types of estrogens are estrone, estradiol and estriol.

Note: Androgens are mainly considered to be present in males only but females also have androgens but in very small amounts, in females these hormones help in libido and sexual arousal.
Endrogen are mainly considered to be a female sex hormone but in low concentrations they are also present in males and help in maturation of sperms and in libido.
