The main tributaries of the Indus river are Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej. The origin of Jhelum river is the south-eastern part of Kashmir at Verinag.
The origin of Chenab river is the confluence of two rivers, the Chandra and the Bhaga. The Ravi river originates in the Kangra Himalayas near the Rohtang pass. The origin of Beas in Beas Kund which lies near the Rohtang pass.The sutlej river originates from a lake which is connected to the Mansarovar lake in Tibet. The Indus river system is one of the largest river systems of the world. This river system covers an area of 1165000 sq km. This river is also known as the Sindhu river.
