Complete answer: Ibn Battuta was a Muslim-Berber explorer and over a period of 30 years, he visited most of the Old World which also include our own country, India.
He travelled to India in the fourteenth century during the regime of Muhammad Bin Tughlaq through the high mountains of Afghanistan and then entered in the northwestern region of India. From the Rajput Kingdom, he visited Hansi and described it as among the most beautiful cities. He travelled to Delhi, Gujarat, Madurai, Rajasthan, Assam, Chittagong, southern India and many more. He was appointed as a qadi (judge) by the sultan.
His ship sank multiple times while exploration and sometimes even looted by bandits. In southern India, he landed under the protection of Jamal ud din for some time before going back to Delhi.

Note: Ibn Battuta travelled totalling around 117,000 Km (72,00 miles) surpassing Zang He with about 50,000 km. He married several times during his journey. His first pilgrimage was to Mecca and on the strength of his years of study in Mecca, Ibn Battuta was appointed as Qadi by the Sultan in India.
