Hint: -To solve this question we may think how to find the value if minus is present in power and that’s why it seems difficult but when we take reciprocal of it power becomes positive and hence we can easily find its value.
Complete step-by-step answer:
We have to find ${10^{ - 3}}$
As told in the hint it seems difficult to find value when we get minus in the power so to find its value we have to change this negative into positive.
To get positive we have to take reciprocal to this number then the power becomes positive and we can easily find the value.
On taking reciprocal of the number we get,
$\frac{1}{{{{10}^3}}}$
And this can be also written as
$\dfrac{1}{{10 \times 10 \times 10}} = \dfrac{1}{{1000}}$
So the value of ${10^{ - 3}}$ is $\dfrac{1}{{1000}}$.
Note:- Whenever we get this type of question the key concept of solving is we feel comfortable in solving questions where there is positive power but as in this question power is negative we have to do something to make power positive either by multiplying on both numerator and denominator or as directly done in this question.
