Hint: To solve this problem we need basic knowledge about decimal conversion and division. Here decimal conversion makes our problem simpler.
Given $2.48 \div 4$
Before solving the problem let us convert the given the decimal value. (If we observe after the point we have two digits, so to convert into fraction we remove the point beside 2 and divide it with 100, which is the fraction form of 2.48.)
$
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{2.48}}{4} \\
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{248}}{{100}} \\
$
Now on dividing the above term with 4 we get
$
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{\dfrac{{248}}{{100}}}}{4} \\
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{248}}{{100}} \times \dfrac{1}{4} \\
\\
$ (Here 248 divided 4 gives us 62)
$
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{62}}{{100}} \\
\Rightarrow 0.62 \\
$
Therefore here on dividing 2.48 with 4 we get value as $0.62$
NOTE: In this type of problems instead of directly dividing the given decimal with the given number it’s better to convert the decimal to fraction .Because division of decimal term leads to confusion.
