Hint: At first, we have to understand what center of gravity is. Center of gravity is defined as an imaginary point in a body of matter where the total weight of the body is considered to be concentrated. This concept is very much useful in designing static structures, or in analyzing the behaviour of a moving body under the influence of gravity.
Complete answer:
Center of gravity has a very important influence in our day-to-day life. Let’s, talk about some of those-
(i) The gases inside the Sun are concentrated due to the effect of center of gravity.
(ii) Because of the center of gravity acting downwards on our body, we do not fall while standing or walking.
(iii) It is the force that causes a ball to come down after we throw it upwards.
(iv) Center of gravity helps any vehicle with wheels to slide down on a downward slope without using any external energy or force.
(v) It causes a glass to drop on the floor when no other force is applied to stop it.
(vi) Center of gravity keeps the Earth and all other planets in line with proper position in their orbits around the Sun.
(vi) It is also one of the reasons why the Moon revolves around the Earth.
(vii) In a mixture of solute and solvent, this force causes the solute to settle down at the bottom rather than to the top.
Note: It must be noted that center of gravity is the only reason which keeps a body or object balanced in its position. It is that imaginary line, disobeying which tends to disbalance everything. It acts towards the center of Earth for all the objects or bodies on or around Earth.
