Major contents that must be included in a home first aid kit are adhesive tapes, gauzes that are sterilised which is for covering sprained body parts and wounds, bandages, antibiotic creams in-order to apply on simple wounds, oral antihistamines like Benadryl for allergic reactions, non-adhesive pads for wounds, a large bandage which is for slings and an anaesthetic agent for pain relief. Other components such as iodine wipes, Ibuprofen for pain relief, antacids for acidity problems are also present in the kit. It is good to include medicines against common diseases like cough, cold and fever.

Note: It is ensured that the quality of components present in the first aid kit should be checked. For example, expired medicines should not be present in the kit. One should always make sure that all the components are properly sterilised and clean, otherwise, it can cause further infections.
