Nor they are divided into classes, such societies are known as Tribes. In today's time the government has launched several policies and schemes for tribal population in various institutions.

Complete Answer: Members of tribes are united by kinship bonds. They earn their livelihood through hunting, gathering and agriculture. Some tribals are nomads which means they move place to place to earn their livelihood. They also make full use of natural resources. They control lands and follow their own rules and regulations. Mostly they live in forests and hills in isolation with mainstream people.
However with the change in time, governmental policies have also changed for tribal population.
-Reservation of seats and special quota for Scheduled Tribes in various organisations and institutions.
-Education has been made accessible by reducing fees and imposing compulsory education.
-Health, water, road etc facilities have been initiated.
-Conservation of tribal culture, traditions and lands.
-Efforts for the overall development and upliftment of tribal society.
