The planet is full of many different climates due to a variety of factors. Regions that are closed to the equator are warmer. The ocean winds also play a huge part in the climate of a particular region. Thus this has a massive impact on the types of organisms that are found on the planet.
Animals need to adapt to the climate that they live in to survive and thrive. Animals that live in desert climates need to ensure that they are able to survive the harsh heat and dry climate. For example, camels have humps on their back that contain fat. This helps them to have an energy resource to keep them going through the harsh months. Camels also have extremely long nephrons which is the basic functioning unit of the kidney. This means that camels are able to process the water that they drink thoroughly and produce concentrated urine.
Animals in cold climates also manage to survive by using adaptations. Polar bears have extremely thick fur and skin to help them live in very cold climates.
