Importance of Railways as a means of transport are as follows:
- Railways extend its hands in administering activities like business, pilgrimage, journey alongside transportation of merchandise.
- Railways are more convenient to transport heavy goods and materials for business purposes. It also enhanced the connection between states in India.
- Railway transport is simpler for significant distance travel and it assumes a fundamental part in national integration.
- Within the bounds of the railway framework, the rail vehicle is not affected by traffic, purposes of redirection and switch offs between modes. This makes rail the most trustworthy mode for making extended periods across the land with negligible damage.
