Hint:Cell is a biological unit of life which is observable under magnifying microscope. They are often called the "building blocks of life".

Complete answer:
The study of cells started about three hundred years ago with the help of one powerful instrument the cell was begin to be known to humans. The scientist who have contributed to the discovery of the cell were 1) Hans and Zacharias Jansen 2) Robert Hooke 3) Matthias Schleiden 4) Theodor Schwann 5) Robert Brown 6) Anton van Leeuwenhoek 7) Rudolph Virchow.
Robert Hooke was an English scientist who coined the term “CELL”. He is the inventor of the compound microscope. He discovered cells in a cork tissue under his compound microscope.
Anton van Leeuwenhoek was a Dutch businessman. He described the cells he discovered in a drop of pond water that he called “animalcules”. He is thus famously termed as “Father of Ancient Microbiology”.
Robert Brown was an English botanist, he discovered the nucleus of the cell in plant cells(orchid).
Matthias Schleiden, a german, botanist, concluded that all plant tissues are composed of cells.
Theodor Schwann German zoologist. He concluded that all animal tissues are composed of cells. He proposed the cell theory.

Additional information:The revised cell theory states that-
1) All known living things are made up of cells.
2) The cell is a structural & functional unit of all living things.
3) All cells come from pre-existing cells by cell division. (Spontaneous Generation does not occur).

Note:A lot of scientists contributed to the discovery of the cell though Robert Hooke first described the cell and discovered it under a microscope.
