It is measured in a scale (pH scale) of 0 to 14. pH Value more than 7 in the pH scale indicates that the solution is alkaline and pH value less than 7 indicates that the solution is acidic and pH value 7 indicates neutral nature of the solution.

First we understand the tooth decay in detail. Due to tooth decay, enamel (outer cover of teeth) and dentine (tissue that forms bulk of teeth) becomes weak gradually. The tooth decay got started when acids are produced by action of bacteria on sugars and food particles which tend to soften the enamel.
