Hint: The epidermis is the upper most thinnest layer in your skin, which provides a barrier to infection from environmental pathogens and regulates the amount of water released from the body into the atmosphere through transepidermal water loss.
Complete answer:
When something happens to epidermist the epidermis starts regenerating, our body's immediate response is inflammation. White-blood cells flow out of local blood vessels into the wound, which could be a scrape, cut or burn. Chemicals like chemokines and cytokines are released by various immune cells - including T-cells, Langerhans cells and mast cells.these substances draw other cells, such as macrophages, to the area of regeneration. This leads to the release of nitric oxide and other substances that possess the initial stages of angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is the process of creation of new blood vessels to replace any that got damaged.
The skin heals itself even after considerable damage that has occurred due to the presence of stem cells in the dermis and cells in the stratum basale of the epidermis. If the epidermis is damaged it will repair itself, but the skin does not completely recover its natural appearance it leaves scars.
Note: The best position for your baby to be in for labour and birth is head down, facing your back - so that their back is towards the front of your tummy. This is called the occipito-anterior position. In anterior position the baby moves more easily through the pelvis.
