A group of interbreeding individual is known as a strain or breed. Certain animals belonging to a breed are known as pure- breed. The breeding technique is solely based on the fundamentals of genetics and environment.
Breeding Methods- Breeding is mostly done by using three methods-
->Outbreeding.
->Outcrossing.
->Crossbreeding
OutbreedingOutcrossing
It is done between unrelated animals which may be between individuals of the same breed without any common ancestry or different breed or between different species.It is done between unrelated members of the same breed which do not have any common ancestors’ up to many generations.
It helps in increasing the genetic variability within a population.It helps in increasing genetic diversity.
Greater adaptation to environmental conditions and survival rate is higher Individuals are more stable to disease or genetic abnormalities.

Additional Information:Crossbreeding is a technique which involves breeding superior males of one breed with superior females of another breed. This gives better progeny.
Note: The best breeding method for increasing the milk rate and growth is the outcrossing. This method helps in overcoming inbreeding depression. Out breeding can lead to reduced reproduction capacity.
