Hint Ecology is a branch of science which studies how the organisms interact with each other and its physical environment. The word ‘ecology’ derived from the Greek word which means environment or house. The primary role of an ecologist is to improve the understanding of life processes, habitats and their adaptations, and biodiversity. The main aim of ecology is to understand the distribution of living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) factors.
Complete Answer- There are various types of ecological levels –
In simple words, we can say that:
-Organisms refer to individuals.
-These organisms make up the population.
-Multiple populations of different species bind together to make up a community.
-All the communities in a specific area build an ecosystem.
-All the ecosystems present on the earth make up the biosphere.
Note- Levels of organization in ecology include all these terms i.e Organisms, Population, Community, Ecosystem, Biome and Biosphere. This level goes from smallest to largest stage. This makes the study easier. Importance of Ecology are:-
-Conservation of Environment
-Eco-friendliness
-Resource Allocation
-Conservation of Energy, etc.

| Organisms | Population | Community | Ecosystem | Biome | Biosphere |
| Living components of the environment at individual level are called organisms. | It is defined as the total sum of all the individuals of a species in a specific geographical area. | It refers to the interaction of several species in a common location. | It is a large community of biotic and abiotic components linked through the exchange of energy and recycling of nutrients. | A large part of the environment consists of a major type of vegetation and its associated fauna in a climatic zone. | All the ecosystems present in the world are collectively called biosphere. |
