Hint: The absence of diseases or physical fitness does not mean that we are perfectly healthy. According to WHO health is defined as “a state of complete social, physical and mental well-being and not merely the absence of infirmity or disease.”
Complete Answer:
A person cannot be termed healthy just by being in a disease-free state. Physical and mental health are equally important. In addition, proper hygiene must also be practiced. Health and hygiene are two terms that are correlated.
Maintenance of hygiene can be at the community level (social hygiene) or personal level (personal hygiene). Personal hygiene must be practiced which includes physical exercise, cleanliness, sleep, proper rest and other related practices such as avoiding from consuming alcohol, smoking, drugs etc.
Social hygiene: Improper, untidy surroundings and inappropriate ways of waste disposal in public places results in an unhealthy atmosphere and it can be a source for many diseases.
Notes:
Hygiene is defined as a set of personal practices that can benefit an individual's good health which includes washing hands, cutting hair/nails periodically, bathing, etc.
What is Sanitation: Sanitation refers to public health conditions such as drinking clean water, sewage treatment, etc.
