The Hindu Rajput ruler of the Amber Kingdom was Jai Singh II, who later built the fortified city of Jaipur and made it his new capital. He was born in the capital, Amber, of the Kachwahas. After his father, Maharaja Bishan Singh, died on 31st December 1699, he became the ruler of Amber at the age of 11.

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, which was founded on November 18, 1727, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The Rajput ruler of the Amber Kingdom (later called Jaipur) was Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He was born on November 3, 1688 and died on September 21, 1743. He was a researcher, a mathematician, and, Par excellence, a town planner. He set up the famous Jantar Mantars observatory and founded the town of Jaipur.
