Hint:Palampur is a hill station in district Kangra in Himachal Pradesh which is one of the northern states of India. Around 450 families are living in Palampur village and the main activity that takes place in this village is farming.

Out of 450 families that live in Palampur village, about 75% of the population is dependent on farming. As we know that farming is the main activity that is followed by the people living in Palampur village and for farming land is the most essential requirement, but people of this village don't have sufficient land for cultivation. There is an unequal distribution of land between the people living in village Palampur.150 families out of 450 families living in village Palampur are landless. 240 families out of the remaining families who own land, cultivate on plots of land that are less than 2 hectares in size. Cultivating on these small plots of land does not provide enough money or income to the families of the farmers. More than 2 hectares of land is cultivated by the remaining families belonging to medium or large farmers. There are some farmers that have over 10 hectares of land or even more. The plots that are very large in size cover more than half of the area of the village. From the above information it can be clearly understood that there is an inequality in the distribution of cultivated land among the people living in Palampur village.
