Hint: Explain the concept of electromagnetism with the help of electric and magnetic fields. Give the information of the device solenoid and its application in motors. Explain the concept of electromagnet, electromagnetic induction and its application in the transformers and generators.
Complete step by step answer:
When the electrons flow through a conductor, an electric current is produced in the conductor.
The electricity is produced due to the flow of the electric current in the conductor.
Magnetism is the phenomenon occurring as a result of the motion of the electric charges.
Electromagnetism is a phenomenon including electricity and magnetism. When there are electric and magnetic forces acting on a charged particle, it leads to the phenomenon of electromagnetism.
The device which is made up of the coil of the wire is known as solenoid.
When an electric current flows through the solenoid, the magnetic field is produced around the solenoid.
These solenoids have a wide application in the motors.
A coil is wrapped around a soft iron core to prepare an electromagnet. When the current flows through this coil, a magnetic field is produced.
The electromagnetic induction is the phenomenon in which an electric current is generated as the emf is induced due to the changing magnetic flux of the magnetic field.
The principle of electromagnetic induction is used in generators and transformers to generate an electric current.
The concept map of the words given is as below:
Note:The concept map gives information about various terms related to it and their applications in daily life.
