The Silk route has its historical significance. It was an important international trade route. The route was between China and Mediterranean sea. China was the leading producer of silk in large quantities. This route was used to export Silk to Western countries. This route developed as a link between East and West. It was an exchange of cultural heritage. There have been several new developments which have helped in improving communication routes in regions of high altitude. Now motorable Roads have been developed in hilly areas by cutting rocks . There are bridges, tunnels and caves to connect from one place to the other. They have Railway lines and high speed trains have also started functioning . Communication is a simple act of sharing thoughts from one person to other.the mode could be by speaking ,drawing or presenting by using our acting skills.Telephone, satellite, phones, mobile phones are developed means of communication are also found in this region. China had a Monopoly on silk production later on secrets of creation spreaded throughout. Camels were used by travelers.

Note: In addition to Silk, spices, grains, fruits and vegetables, animal hides, woods and metalwork precious stones were also transported. It was most popular during the Tsang dynasty. Travellers could choose land and sea as paths to reach their destination.
