Hint: Coal and petrol is used for various purposes.Coal and petrol are non-renewable sources. They are obtained from fossils and sea bed. Synthetic fibres are man-made fibres. fabrics are made from these fibres.
Complete answer:
The sedimentary black brownish rock is called coal. Coal consists majorly of carbon and also some other components like sulfur, oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen. Dead plant matter decays and forms peat. This peat is converted into coal by heat and deep burial pressures over millions of years. Peat can be referred to as a precursor of coal. Petrol is also called gasoline. It is primarily used as fuel and is a flammable liquid derived from petroleum. It mostly consists of organic compounds. Hydrocarbon materials are produced by the heating of the coal which when burned in presence of oxygen is used as fuel. On the contrary, if it is burned in the absence or lack of oxygen hydrocarbons are captured and modified into the pitch. The pitch can be converted into carbon fibers which is used to produce a composite material that is strong and light. A derivative of petroleum known as polyacrylonitrile is used to produce carbon-fiber composite material. Coal and petrol are primarily used as fuel but it is also used to make synthetic fibers. Nylon is a synthetic fiber produced from coal, water, and air. Nylon is considered to be the first commercially synthesized fiber. In New York and London, the production of nylon was started simultaneously. Thus, it derived its name NYLON, NY from New York and LON from London.
Note: Petrol is a fossil fuel and its products are obtained by refining crude oil. Other uses of coal and petrol include perfumes, fertilizers, pesticides, soaps, petroleum jelly, and many more. Petroleum is also used as oil in producing electricity and also as fuel in vehicles.
