There are nine planets in our solar system. These nine planets complete revolution around the Sun with the Sun as the centre. The nine planets are:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The planets are in the increasing order of distance from the sun.
Saturn is the sixth planet in the Solar system, from the sun and the second-largest planet after Jupiter. It has the largest number of moons, equal to 82 moons. Its surface is characterized by a swirling gaseous layer. This means that no object such as satellites or debris, can land on the surface of Saturn. This feature of Saturn is similar to that of Jupiter.
The most prominent and distinguishing feature of the planet Saturn is the rings that encompass the planet, consisting of mainly ice crystals with small amounts of rocky debris and dust.
The radius of Saturn is equal to,
$r = 60268km$
The circumference of Saturn is calculated by the formula –
$C = 2\pi r$
Substituting, we get –
$C = 2\pi \times 60268 = 6 \cdot 28 \times 60268 = 378675km$
Thus, the circumference of Saturn is equal to 378675 kilometres.
The circumference of Earth is equal to 40075 km. This means that the circumference of Saturn is nearly equal to –

Even though Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system in size, the density of Saturn is equal to 1/8th of that of Earth. The density is so less that the whole planet of Saturn can float on water. The seventh day of the week i.e., Saturday is named after Saturn.
