Hint: It is a polymeric carbohydrate that consists of numbers of glucose units.

Complete answer:
Carbohydrate is a molecule with a general formula of (CH2O), where hydrogen and oxygen are present in the ratio of 2:1. The 2 main carbohydrates are starch and cellulose and both the macromolecules have very high molecular weight i.e. in the hundreds of thousands. They both are the polymers that are formed from the repeating units of monomers. Polymer is polysaccharides and monomers are sugar glucose units and the process of forming a polymer is called polymerization. Glycogen is a polysaccharide molecule and this is the storage form of glucose in animals and humans. Glycogen is analogous to starch in plants. Glycogen is stored in the liver and muscles. So, this is not the correct option as it is not found in plants. Glucose is a monosaccharide and also called dextrose. Glucose is further converted to starch for the storage. Maltose is a disaccharide and it forms on the partial hydrolysis of starch. Hence, carbohydrates are plants that are stored in the form of starch.

Thus, the correct answer is option B. i.e., Starch.

Note: The chemical formula of starch is (C6H10O5) n+ (H2O). It is a white powder and decomposes at the melting point. Starch is insoluble in water, odorless, tasteless. Most of the green plants store energy as starch whereas glucose is soluble in water, hydrophilic. The enzymes that break down starch into constituent sugar is called amylase.
