Hint: In this question we are asked to find the percentage change, Percentage change equals the change in value divided by the absolute value of the original value, multiplied by 100, which is given by the formula,
$\dfrac{{{\text{amount of the change}}}}{{{\text{original amount}}}} \times 100\% $
Where the amount of change means difference in the values and original amount is the given value which is to be changed, now substituting the values and performing the subtraction operation, and dividing the result with the original value and then finally multiplying with 100, we will get the required percentage change.

Complete step by step answer:
Percentage change can be calculated by using the formula,
$\dfrac{{{\text{amount of the change}}}}{{{\text{original amount}}}} \times 100\% $,
Given that we have to calculate the percentage change of 80 to 24,
Now using the formula and substituting the given values in the formula we get,
In this case the change was from 80 to 24,
Original amount $= 80$,
This change can be written as, $80 - 24 = 56$,
So, it was a decrease of 56,
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{{56}}{{80}} \times 100\% $,
Now by simplifying we get,
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{7}{{10}} \times 100\% $,
Again simplifying we get,
$ \Rightarrow 7 \times 10\% $,
Now applying the multiplication operation we get,
$ \Rightarrow 70\% $,
So the percentage change will be equal to $70\%$.

Note: Percentage change represents a degree of change over time; it is used for many purposes in finance, most notably to indicate the price change of a security. Percentage change can be applied to any quantity that can be measured over time. Positive values indicate a percentage increase whereas negative values indicate percentage decrease.
