Hint: The battle of Buxar was fought between Nawab Mir Qasim ,Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, Nawab of Awdh and the British East India Company. The British emerged as winners and it led to the signing of the Treaty of Allahabad.

Complete answer: The Battle of Buxar was fought in october,1764. Shah Alam was forced to pay a sum of five million rupees as compensation. After the war, The Treaty of Allahabad came into force. The British kept the districts of Karra and Allahabad in return for twenty six lakh rupees. The money was given to the Emperor in order to maintain his courts in Allahabad.The Treaty of Allahabad was signed between Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II and Robert Clive on behalf of the British East India Company. The treaty marked the starting of British rule in India. According to the Treaty, it British received the Diwani rights or the right to collect taxes on behalf of the Eastern province of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa.
This established the Dual system of Government in India and the securing of the Diwani rights which was an important event in Indian history. This completely removed the Nawabs from the position of control. Some of the key reasons of the Battle of Buxar are:
1. Mir Qasim, in order to become independent, shifted his capital from Munger to Calcutta.
2. He engaged foreign experts to train his army, many of whom were in direct confrontation with the British.
3. He did not grant any special privileges to the British.
