Assertion(A) : Real expansion of liquid does not depend on the material of the container.
Reason(R) : liquids have no definite shape. They acquire the mouth of the containers in which they are taken.
A. Both assertion and reason are correct and reason is the correct explanation for assertion.
B. Both reason and assertion are correct but reason is not the correct explanation for assertion.

Hint:-Let’s write a few properties of the liquid which will be useful for us in solving the question.
Liquids take the shape of the container in which they are kept.
Retention of volume .
Liquids have their boiling points above room temperature under normal conditions.
Complete step-by-step solution:-
We will elaborate assertion using a real life example :
When we heat the water contained in a container , container could be of brass, steel ,earthen pot ,copper pot .There will be slight expansion in the container first then the expansion of liquid takes place(because of boiling point). The final position of the liquid in the container is less than the initial position because as the liquid expands on heating plus the container expansion, liquid spreads slightly more in the container .this expansion is stated as:
Real expansion =apparent + container expansion.
The expansion is totally real but the expansion of liquid is apparent.
We have concluded that the expansion does not depend on the material of the container .
Now we will discuss liquids .
As we have mentioned the properties of liquid in the hint above that liquids do not their own shape they hold the shape of the container in which they are kept and retain it(by property of retention).
Whether we take water, milk, or oil all takes the shape of the container in which they are kept and retains it , the shape doesn’t change after some time .
Therefore we can conclude that both the reason and assertion are true and reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.
Option A is correct.
Note:- All the liquids have some expansion on being heated .But the boiling point varies and due to which different liquids expand at different rates like if the liquid is kept in brass container its boiling point is 9300C ,that of copper is 10840C ,aluminium 6600C because the expansion of liquid will take place only when container expands first this is the reason of different expansion rates of liquids.
