The Nizams ruled a luxurious lifestyle in the princely state of Hyderabad for 224 years. Hyderabad underwent massive changes economically and socially from 1724 to 1948. The Nizams greatly patronised food, literature and architecture. After India gained independence in 1947, the Nizams refused to join the Indian union. However after Nizam's rule ended in 1948, the Indian Army seized the state under the leadership of Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the then Prime Minister. So, option D is the correct answer.
