Hint:The phase of the colloidal particle that is dispersed is called the dispersed phase. The medium in which the colloidal particles are distributed is called the dispersion medium.

Complete step by step answer:
Colloids are classified on the basis of physical states of components, that is, on the basis of physical states of the dispersed phase and dispersion medium. Colloidal solution is classified into eight types of colloidal systems. It can be shown in table form.
Dispersion MediumDispersed PhaseType of ColloidExample

liquidsolidgeljelly
liquidliquidemulsionmilk
liquidgasaerosolmist
gassolidSolid solpumice

Additional Information:
-The best way to determine whether a mixture is colloidal or not is by using the tyndall effect.
-Colloidal system where dispersion medium is water is called hydrocolloid.
Depending on the nature of dispersed phase and dispersion medium, colloids are classified into:
(i)Alcosol-Colloidal solution of a solid, which is the dispersion phase, in alcohol, which is the dispersion medium.
(ii)Aerosol-Colloidal solution of a liquid, which is the dispersion phase, in gas, which is the dispersion medium. For example, fog.
(iii)Hydrosol-Colloidal solution of a solid, which is the dispersed phase, in water, is the dispersion medium.
(iv)Benzol- colloidal solution with benzene as the dispersion medium.

Note:
We should keep in mind that a mixture of a gas with another gas is a homogeneous mixture. It is not a colloidal solution.
