Hint:-Manure is basically animal dung that is brought to use by humans for agricultural purposes. Manure is used for fertilizing the agricultural fields and lands. It functions as a natural fertilizer and is preferred by many farmers instead of artificial ones.

Complete answer:
Most manures are composed of animal feces which is the major component of the manure. The advantages that manures render us with are that they increase the fertility of the soil thus improving the quality of the crops cultivated on the land. Manures promote the growth of the plants.
Manures add organic matter to the soil. It nourishes the soil with various nutrients such as nitrogen and sulfates. These nutrients are utilized by bacterias and other microorganisms present in the soil. Manure improves the water holding capacity of the soil and enables better percolation of water. This provides the appropriate amount of water required by the plant thus reducing water stress. It also helps in preventing soil erosion. The capacity of the soil to retain nutrients is also enhanced. These contribute to the cultivation of a healthier crop.
There are three types of manure:
- Green manure
- Farmyard manure
- Compost manure

Note:- The disadvantage of using manures is that upon regular and frequent use, it starts degrading the natural quality of the soil and makes it infertile. Green manure is composed of dead parts of plants such as fallen leaves and compost manure is made up of composting dead matter that is being degraded by the bacteria.
