Hint: The term feedback reduces the overall gain of a system with the degree of reduction being related to the system open-loop gain. Whereas by using the negative feedback will let you control the gain of amplifier stages and can also reduce amplitude distortion.

Complete answer:
The feedback consist of two types:

POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.
POSITIVE FEEDBACK: in positive feedback if the signal fed back from an output which is in the phase within the input signal that feedback is known as positive feedback.

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK: In negative feedback if the signal fed back is of opposite polarity or the out of phase of $ {180^ \circ } $ with the respect to input signals, that feedback is known as negative feedback.

THE ADVANTAGES OF NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AMPLIFIER ARE GIVEN BELOW:

A. The negative feedback helps in reducing the noise.
B. The negative feedback has highly stabilized gain.
C. The negative feedback can control the step response of the amplifier.
D. The negative feedback has less harmonic distortion.
E. The negative feedback has less amplitude distortion.
F. The negative feedback has less phase distortion.
G. In the negative feedback the input and the output impedance can be modified as desired.
H. The negative feedback can increase or decrease the output impedances.
I. The negative feedback has higher fidelity i-e more linear operation.
J. The negative feedback has less frequency distortion.

Note:
As we studied above there are two types of feedback; positive feedback and negative feedback but the negative is more preferable then the positive feedback because the negative feedback generally promotes stability whereas the positive feedback tends to lead to instability.
