Hint:Components connected in series share a single "electrical route," and each component receives the same current, which is equal to the network's current. The sum of the voltages across each component equals the voltage throughout the network.

Complete answer:
Two or more resistances are said to be connected in series combination when they are connected end to end in a straight line. The sum of the individual resistances is equal to the combined resistance of any number of resistances connected in series. Some of the advantages and disadvantages of series combination are as follows:

Advantages of series combination:
-Individual cells produce a lower resulting voltage than cells coupled in series.
-The voltage rises as the number of cells rises.
-Series circuits do not easily overheat.

Disadvantages of series combination:
-Because the circuit has been broken, if one component in a series circuit fails, all of the other components in the circuit will fail as well.
-The resistance of a series circuit increases as the number of components increases.

Note: Every component in a series circuit must work in order for the circuit to be complete. In a series circuit, if one bulb goes out, the entire circuit is broken. Because each light bulb in a parallel circuit has its own circuit, all but one light bulb can be burned out while the remaining one continues to function.
