It’s a beautiful place. 30% of its area is covered with evergreen rainforests. The Coorgi homes have a tradition of hospitality. It offers nature all around. Coffee estates and colonial bungalows are found in the main areas of the district. The best time for tourists to visit the region is from September to March of every year.

The sports it offers to tourists include water activities like river rafting(in the river Kaveri) and canoeing. Hills and mountain activities like rappelling, rock climbing and mountain biking. Other than that numerous walking trails in this region are a favourite with trekkers. The diverse wildlife allows the tourists to take jeep safaris as well as allow for camping in the serene nature.
