Hint: Here we will come to know about sensors and their different types of uses. The sensors are small or medium size devices which can convert physical stimuli such as heat, light, sound and motion into electrical signals. These electrical signals are passed through an interface that converts them into a binary code, a code of computer language and passes this on to a computer to be processed further.

Our world consists of sensors. We can find various examples of Sensors in our homes, offices, cars etc. working to make our lives easier by turning on the lights by detecting our presence, adjusting the room temperature, detect smoke or fire, make us delicious coffee, open garage doors as soon as our car is near the door and many other tasks. 1.Temperature Sensor – It measures the changes in the temperature.
2.Proximity Sensor – It detects the presence of an object.
3.Accelerometer – It measures acceleration which makes it possible to get information such as object inclination and vibration.
4.IR Sensor (Infrared Sensor) - It measures and detects infrared radiation in its surrounding environment.
5.Pressure Sensor – It senses pressure and converts signals to electrical signals.
6.Light Sensor – It senses light energy and converts it into an electrical signal output.
7.Ultrasonic Sensor – It measures the distance of an object using ultrasonic sound waves.
8.Smoke and Gas Sensor – They detect the gas or presence of carbon monoxide in the surrounding.
9.Touch Sensor – It senses and records physical touch.
10.Color Sensor – It emits light from the transmitter and detects the light reflected from the detection object with a receiver.
11.Humidity Sensor – A sensor measuring the humidity in its environment.
12.Position Sensor – It detects the movement of an object.
13.Magnetic Sensor – It detects the magnitude of magnetism and geomagnetism generated by a magnet or current.
14.Microphone – It is a sensor which detects sound and converts it into electrical energy.
15.Tilt Sensor – It measures the tilt in multiple axes of a reference plane.
16.PIR Sensor – It generally detects heat energy in the surrounding environment and is called Passive infrared sensors.
17.Strain and Weight Sensor – It converts the input mechanical force such as load, weight, tension, compression, or pressure into the electrical signal.
