Hint: A hot spot is an area on earth over a mantle plume or an area under the rocky outer layer of earth, called the crust, where magma is hotter than surrounding magma. The magma plume causes melting and thinning of the rocky crust and widespread volcanic activity.

Complete answer:
Since most volcanoes form along tectonic plate boundaries, mantle plumes and hot spots lead to their development as well. Hot spots volcanoes occur far from plate boundaries. Because the hot spot is caused by mantle plumes that exist below the tectonic plates ,as the plates move, the hot spot does not, and may create a chain of volcanoes on the Earth’s surface.
Mantle plume refers to the upwelling of magma within the Earth’s mantle.
Tectonic plate – Tectonic plate is the massive slab of solid rock made up of earth’s lithosphere (crust and upper mantle ) also called a lithospheric plate.
Hot spot is an area under the rocky outer layer of earth, called the crust, where magma is hotter than surrounding magma. Our hot spot is the area which is an intensely hot region deep within the earth that rises to just underneath the surface.
Some of the hot spots produce the Volcanoes.
It is the molten rock in the earth crust that is pushed upward and trapped in certain regions. Earth’s crust is the rocky outermost layer of earth.

Hence option (A) is the correct option.

Note:
Neither the Hawaiian Islands nor the Yellowstone National Park are near plate boundaries, rather, the volcanoes that form the Hawaiian Islands and the volcanic activity at Yellowstone National Park are due to their locations over hot spots.
Geologists estimate as there are about 40-50 hotspots around the world.
