Hint: Besides the longitudinal division Himalayas or Himalayas regions also having the West to East division. It is a Regional division, Sir Sidney Burrard divided the entire Himalayas divided into regions:-
(I) Punjab Himalaya
(II) Kumaon Himalaya
(III) Nepal Himalaya
(IV) Assam Himalaya

These Himalayan regions are divided on the basis of rivers and the mountain area which lies between the Tista river and Bhramputra(Dhingra) rivers is known as Assam Himalayas. It covers an area of 750km the length is from west to east. Assam Himalayas spread over the states are Sikkim, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh. Assam is the state of northeastern India. The elevation of the Assam Himalayas is much less than the Nepal Himalayas and lesser Himalayas are very narrow here and it is closest to the Great Himalayas. Peakes and Assam Himalayas:-
(I) Namchawara 7756 m
(II) Kula kangri of 7554 m
(III) Chomo Lehri 7327 m
Passes of Assam Himalayas:-(La stands here for a pass)
(I) Nathuram or Nathu la pass.
(II) Jelep la pass.
(III) Bomdi la pass.
Another important in this is it consists of two hill ranges one is Shiwaliks and the second is Purvanchal. Shiwalik is the outer Himalayas the hill ranges like Dafla, Miri, Abor and Mishmi are the Shiv. Purvanchal is a mountain range that is aligned in a North South direction present in Assam Himalayas.
Note:The difference between the Shiwalik and Purvanchal is the different alignment as Shiwaliks are arranged in east-west alignment and Purvanchals are arranged in north-south directions this is the basic difference in these mountain ranges.
