Hint:-The auditory signals are needed to be sent to the brain to help in the hearing of the sounds present in the surroundings. The signals are sent through the nerve. The signals are read by the brain and then are perceived. The process takes place at a very fast pace.

The inner ear consists of a part named the cochlea at which the auditory signals are made. From there they are transported to the brain with the help of the cochlear nerve. The cochlear nerve is divided into two parts namely the vestibulocochlear nerve and vestibular nerve. The vestibulocochlear nerve carries spatial orientation information to the brain. This is done through the semicircular ducts. The auditory nerve fiber is either unipolar or bipolar. The action potential generated is transmitted through the neuron. The neurons present here are myelinated. In mammals, the axons from the cochlear nerve terminate in the cochlear nuclear complex which is located at the medulla region of the brain. The cochlear nucleus is used to relay the station of the central auditory system. Two organs help the functioning of nerves to properly occur; they are the cochlea and the vestibular apparatus.
Note:- The cochlea transforms the sound waves into electrical signals which can be read by the brain. If the vestibulocochlear nerve gets damaged it can lead to vomiting, ringing in the ears, motion sickness and in serious condition, it can lead to hearing loss. Its damage can also cause a person to feel a false sense of motion.
