Hint: Firstly, a saturated fat is a type of fat in which the fatty acid chains have all or predominantly single bonds. Furthermore, a fat is made of two kinds of smaller molecules that are glycerol and fatty acid. Saturated fatty acids lack double bonds between the individual carbon atoms. Saturated fatty acids or saturated fats tend to be solid at room temperature. So, saturated basically means a solution that is unable to absorb or dissolve any more of a solute at a given temperature and pressure.
Complete step by step answer:
So as our first option is Oleic Acid, which is also called as cis-9-octadecenoic acid which is an example of a fatty acid found in animals and in vegetable oils. But it is a mono-unsaturated fatty acid. Just due to the presence of a single double bond. This also makes the molecules much less flexible than those of fully saturated fatty acids like example stearic acid.
Second one is Linoleic acid which is also called as cis,-9, 12-octadecadienoic acid, linoleic acid is a typical poly-unsaturated fatty acid. Only due to the presence of two double bonds. It is the min fatty acid which is found in vegetable oils such as soybean oil, corn oil and rapeseed oil etc. it is a polyunsaturated fatty acid used in the biosynthesis of arachidonic acid saturation. It is only found in the lipids of cell membranes.
Third option is linolenic acid which is also called as unsaturated fatty acid that is not synthesized by the animal cells and it must be provided as a nutrient in cell culture. Linolenic acid is poorly soluble in peroxidation. So, linolenic acid is just an example of poly-unsaturated fatty acid.
Last option is Palmitic acid which is saturated long chain fatty acid with a carbon backbone. Palmitic acid is found naturally in palm oil and palm Kernel oil, as well as a solid and is considered to be partially insoluble (in water) and relatively neutral.
So, the correct answer is Option D .
Note:
Palmitic acid is also sometimes used in skincare products to make a clear product. Palmitic acid has no known toxicity in general and sometimes is shown to be non-irritating and suitable for sensitive skin.
