Hint: Siraj-ud-daulah was one of the powerful rulers of Bengal. Earlier the British men sought the help of Siraj’s army chief to conspire against him in the battle of plassey. As a result of this conspiracy he lost the battle of plassey in 1757. Later Siraj-ud-daulah was assassinated on 2 July 1757 by Mohammad Ali beg.

Complete answer: After the assassination of Siraj-ud-daulah Mir Jafar succeeded him as the nawab of Bengal. He was assassinated by Mohammad Ali begged on the orders of Mir Miran, son of Mir Jafar. As Mir Jafar signed an agreement with the East India Company in order to become the nawab of Bengal. Mir Jafar, who was the commander in chief of Siraj-ud-daulah’s army, betrayed him in the battle of plassey.
After becoming the nawab of Bengal, he issued the Farman in 1765 granting the company the entire diwani of Bengal, Orissa and Bihar along with the payment for the expenses of Nizamat in return for an annual payment. Mir Jafar being the puppet of East India Company conquered many Parganas of Bengal to the British. Later he too was replaced by the East India Company as a result of rebellion against them.
So the correct option here is A. Mir Jafar. Mir Jafar succeeded the throne of Bengal after the assassination of Siraj-ud-daulah.

Note:Mir Jafar received help from East India Company militarily but soon realized that this negotiation is making him suffer financially this made him to rebel against the company to earn dominance but it cost him his position and wealth. Mir Jafar later died of leprosy and his son died of the lightning stroke. After this East India Company made Mir Qasim the nawab of Bengal.
